Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center 116 Johnson RoadFalls Village, CT 06031860.824.5991 The facility has four miles of marked trails through dense forest, an organic farm with 20 acres of green houses, row crops, berry bushes, beehives, a composting center with hens, and a goat barn.
By train from NYC – you can reach Isabella Freedman by taking the Metro North Harlem Line from Grand Central Station to Wassaic Train Station. From Wassaic Train Station, you can take a taxi/Uber to Isabella Freedman. Call in advance to book your ride. Watson Livery Service: 845-464-8178 – is suggested. Accommodations:The Isabella Freedman Retreat Center offers hotel style lodging. All rooms have a private bath room and at least two beds-- a queen and a twin. Some rooms have a queen and two twins. Lodging fees include three farm-table meals per day. Single room - $325 USD/night
Double room - $245 USD/night
Lodging reservations are due and payable by July 1, 2025. Check-In & Check-Out:Check-In time is 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Check-Out is 10:00 am Sunday, September 7, 2025. You must be out of your room, but may stay on property until noon.
Please Note the Following:Isabella Freedman does not provide keys to rooms. Rooms lock from the inside only.
Candles are not allowed.
Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and throughout campus. You may smoke only at the Fire pit by the lake. Please dispose of cigarettes in the appropriate receptacles.
Food & Dining: Lodging fees include three farm-table meals per day.
- Water is from the well, so you can drink the water from all faucets and taps in every building. - This facility is strictly kosher. Any outside food brought into the Main Building must be packaged, marked with a hechsher (a kosher symbol), and checked by one of the mashgichim (kosher supervisors). - No outside food may be brought into the Dining Hall or Dining Tent. - All food must be clearly marked with stickers that indicate the allergens that dish contains. - Do not take dishes out of the Main Building. - Do not bring any personal eating or drinking vessels into the dining spaces without prior approval. - Please clear/bus your tables after each meal. This includes all dishware and glassware. - Composting: Isabella Freedman composts all food scraps (including bones), paper products and to-go ware (hot-cold cups, lids, utensils containers, corks and coffee stirrers). - Trash and Recycling: Place trash and recycling into the appropriate bins located in the Main Building. - No electronics are allowed in the Dining Hall. Emergencies:In case of a Medical Emergency, call 911 first, then contact Guest Services. The staff do not provide medical assistance. If there is a medical or facilities emergency during the day, contact Guest Services staff. During the nighttime, please call 860-672-8226. Basic First Aid materials are located at the Guest Services area in the Main Building. A defibrillator is located in the closet of the Library in the Main Building.
